Introducing…

Winter has finally made its way to Boston. With a vengeance. This is the time of the year that brings out the worst in me. The cold makes me whine incessantly. If I can avoid leaving the house when it hits below say, 30 degrees, I will. There’s also something about winter that hastens the loss of my brain cells. I’m prone to watching mindless television shows I wouldn’t normally watch in the summer and I’m likely to pass out on my couch at 8:30pm on any given night, garbed in fine flannel pajamas and tangled in down and fleece comforters.

This winter I have decided to get crafty. I’ve had crafty hobbies in the past but for some reason I bore easily. I move on to the next endeavor without a second look back at all the supplies I purchased and the time I spent nurturing my macramé craft, my silversmithing businees, and so on. I have now decided that I will be making sock monkeys. Yup, sock monkeys. I’ve already purchased one dozen red heel socks. I am determined to become intimately reacquainted with my sewing machine. If I am going to refuse to exit the house in cold weather, I need to do something fun and creative in order not to feel useless during the winter months.

So, I am proud to introduce you to my first sock monkey creation! Uno Stevental. He’s quite the fella. He’s kept me company on the couch, offered to help with the cooking, and has even traveled to work to meet my colleagues.

My sock monkeys will come personalized, and will have their own unique story. I’ll be making them for family and friends, but maybe I’ll sell a few too. Maybe you will “adopt” your very own sock monkey from me!

And now, for Uno Stevental’s personal story

Uno Stevental was a orphan as a child but he has defied all odds by becoming a successful pizza parlor owner in NYC. Recently he’s done some soul searching and has decided to sell his world-famous pizza business in order to try his hand at writing. He’s trying to break into the publishing world as we speak!
